Frequently Asked Questions

What counts as a node?
A node is any monitored device in your infrastructure — this includes physical servers, virtual machines (VMware, Hyper-V, KVM), containers (Docker, Kubernetes pods), network devices (routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers), storage arrays, and any other endpoint that MinusNow actively monitors.

Devices that are registered but not actively monitored do not count toward your node total. For example, if you have 200 servers but only monitor 120, you are billed for 120 nodes. You can add or remove monitored nodes at any time, and billing adjusts automatically on your next cycle.
What counts as a technician?
A technician is any IT staff member who actively works on incidents, changes, problems, or service requests through the MinusNow platform. This includes L1/L2/L3 support engineers, system administrators, network engineers, and IT managers who use the platform's operational features.

End users (employees, customers, or stakeholders who only submit tickets, view knowledge base articles, or check request status) are always free — no matter how many you have. You will never be charged for end-user access. If your team doesn't need dedicated technician seats (e.g., you use MinusNow purely for monitoring), simply enter 0 technicians in the calculator above.
What is the $1.50 base fee?
The $1.50/month base fee covers the core Enterprise platform infrastructure — including your dedicated tenant environment, encrypted data storage, automated backups, platform updates, and access to all Enterprise features. It is a flat fee regardless of how many nodes or technicians you have.

Think of it as the “platform access fee” that keeps the lights on for your Enterprise account. At just $1.50/month ($1.20/month if billed annually), it's one of the lowest base fees in the industry.
Can I use Enterprise without any technicians?
Absolutely! If you use MinusNow primarily for infrastructure monitoring, alerting, and auto-healing without needing ITSM ticketing workflows, you can run Enterprise with 0 technicians. You'll only pay the $1.50 base fee + per-node pricing.

For example, 100 monitored nodes with 0 technicians on monthly billing = $1.50 + (100 × $0.40) = $41.50/month. You still get full AI-powered monitoring, auto-healing, vulnerability detection, and all Enterprise features.
Can I upgrade from Free to Enterprise anytime?
Yes! You can upgrade seamlessly at any time from your account dashboard. The process takes less than a minute:

1. Go to Settings → Subscription
2. Click “Upgrade to Enterprise”
3. Choose monthly or annual billing
4. Enter payment details

Your existing data, configurations, incidents, knowledge base articles, and all history carry over automatically. There is zero downtime and no migration required. You can also downgrade back to Free if your needs change (nodes above 25 will be paused).
Is there a contract or minimum commitment?
No contracts whatsoever.

Monthly plans: Pure pay-as-you-go. Cancel anytime from your dashboard — no cancellation fees, no penalties. Your account reverts to the Free plan at the end of your billing cycle.

Annual plans: Billed upfront for 12 months at a 20% discount. Includes a 30-day money-back guarantee — if you're not satisfied within the first 30 days, we'll refund the full amount, no questions asked. After 30 days, the annual commitment applies but you can still cancel renewal for the next year.
Do you offer on-premises deployment?
Yes! MinusNow supports multiple deployment models:

• Self-hosted (on-premises): Deploy on your own infrastructure. You control the hardware, networking, and data residency. Available for both Free and Enterprise plans.

• Managed Cloud: Enterprise customers can opt for our fully managed cloud deployment with 99.9% SLA uptime guarantee, automatic scaling, geo-redundant backups, and 24/7 infrastructure management by our team.

• Hybrid: Run the monitoring agent on-premises while using our cloud for dashboards, alerting, and AI analysis — ideal for environments with strict data sovereignty requirements.
How does billing work for large-scale deployments?
For deployments exceeding 1,000 nodes, we offer volume discounts that can significantly reduce your per-node cost:

• 1,000 – 5,000 nodes: ~15% discount on per-node pricing
• 5,000 – 25,000 nodes: ~25% discount
• 25,000+ nodes: Custom enterprise pricing

What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major payment methods:

We require a one-time ₹2 (~$0.02 USD) credit card verification during Free plan registration. This is not a charge — it is a temporary hold that is reversed within minutes.

Prevent automated abuse and spam accounts
Ensure genuine business usage of the platform
Provide a seamless upgrade path if you later move to Enterprise

After verification, you get full access to all Free plan resources including documentation, source code, agents, and the ability to deploy and monitor up to 25 nodes — all at no cost, forever.
How do I get access to Enterprise plan resources?
Enterprise plan access is provisioned exclusively by the MinusNow technical or sales team. Unlike the Free plan (which is self-service), Enterprise is a managed onboarding process:

1. Contact our sales team or submit an Enterprise trial request
2. Our team will assess your infrastructure, requirements, and scale
3. We configure your dedicated tenant, licenses, SSO, and access credentials
4. You receive all Enterprise resources: documentation, source code, advanced agents, deployment scripts, Helm charts, and SDK toolkit
